Environmental Policy

Moss Electrical Holdings Limited (the ‘organisation’) recognises the importance of environmental protection and is committed to operating its business responsibly and in compliance with all legal requirements relating to the supply of electrical components and products to the construction industry. It is the organisation’s declared policy to operate with and to maintain good relations with all regulatory bodies.

 

The organisation recognises the social and economic importance of protecting the environment and also understands that the business activities impact on the environment and the wider community as a whole. It is the organisation’s objective to carry out all measures reasonably practicable to meet, exceed or develop all necessary or desirable requirements and to continually improve environmental performance through the implementation of the following:

 

  • Actively encourage an environmentally responsible approach to buying and selling and to propose more sustainable alternatives where competitiveness allows and positive benefits can be realised.
  • Train employees, promoting environmental targets and a recognition of the environmental impact of their work.
  • Assessing the environmental performance of the organisation’s operational processes with a view to the prevention of air, ground, water and noise pollution and reducing waste.
  • Reducing the use of all energy and products using materials from sources which can be shown to be environmentally sustainable and are either reusable or recyclable.
  • Developing and reviewing operational procedures and auditing for compliance to ensure standards are being maintained and, where necessary, take corrective action.
  • Setting and regularly reviewing environmental objectives which are achievable and realistic.
  • Encouraging the adoption of similar environmental principles by the organisation’s suppliers, trade contractors, customers and other parties.
  • Operating a quality management system compliant with ISO9001
  • Complying with the requirements of the relevant environmental legislation and the approved codes of practice to which we work.
  • Use the environmental management system to achieve continuous improvement in all activities.

 

This policy statement responds to the directive issued by Robert Moss, managing director of the organisation which is wholly supported by the board of directors who provides total commitment to our environmental management systems. This policy statement is available to all staff and trade contractors and is made available to other interested parties upon request.
